DEMOCRACY IS DEAD IN NIGERIA, SAYS FAYOSE

Gov. Ayo Fayose of Ekiti State has described democracy as dead in Nigeria.

"With the show of shame that happened in last Saturday's Osun state governorship election in general and the Thursday rerun in particular, there is no other conclusion to draw than that democracy is now dead in our beloved country", he said.

In  a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Idowu Adelusi, the governor decried the conduct as well as outcome of the said election.

"With what happened in Osun state, democracy is actually dead in Nigeria and we are in critical times.

"The Osun supplementary elections was just a repeat of what happened in Ekiti state on July 14th. And it is unfortunate that, again, the will of the people has been perverted.

"It was obvious even to the blind that the Osun election, as was the case with Ekiti, was a contest between the PDP and the security agencies supervised by a compromised INEC"

Fayose added that the University professors also used as returning officers by INEC have, ab initio, been compromised and only serve the interest of those he described as their pay masters.

"Therefore, we want to believe that conscionable Nigerians and the survival of this country as a whole are at the mercy of God and of the judiciary. And if the judiciary fails to rise up to the occasion, Nigerians will be among men the most miserable"

Reviewing previous elections, Fayose said the ruling APC has perfected various forms of what he called "rigging plans, beginning with Edo, going forward to Ondo and Ekiti and now Osun state".

The Ekiti governor commended Senator Nurudeen Ademola Adeleke for having fought a good fight.

"You did not lose but your mandate has only been stolen"

Fayose then condemned the violence that attended the election, sympathised with the families of those killed and enjoined PDP members to refrain from taking the law into their own hands.

"Help will come soon" he said.

The federal government under the watch of Buhari is displaying executive rascality by disobeying court orders - Ayo Fayose

Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose has accused the Federal Government of mismanaging funds from the Federal account saying funds meant for the three tiers of government is spent by the executives only.

Speaking on Channels Television programme, Sunday Politics, the governor accused President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration of involving in ‘executive rascality’ noting that even the National Assembly cannot curb the excesses of the executives.

“Every accrual in this country is supposed to go into a Federal account that is supposed to be shared by the three tiers of government. As at today, the Federal Government is spending money that belongs to the three tiers of government.

“The Supreme court nullified the excess crude account which means all accruals must go into a central purse. Where the Federal Government will take their share, the state will take their share and the local government will take their share,” he said.

Fayose said further that the state government in a Federating unit is as important as the Federal Government and the local government but claimed that the has not followed this procedure but had only involved in gross misconduct.

“What they are doing is executive rascality, and the National Assembly cannot debate this matter,” he said.

Fayose who is also the Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors Forum also reacted to the $1billion set aside to tackle insurgency in the nation. He said this amount of money is strange.

Fayose questioned where the fund is going after the military had earlier claimed that they were on top of the problem of insurgency. He added that some governors of the PDP were not at the meeting where some governors gave approval for the Federal Government to use the said amount to tackle insurgency.

“Most times, the majority are not right. Most of the times, the majority tell lies. Especially in the democracy here, a lot would naturally be wrong with the majority.

“Governor Dickson of Bayelsa, Governor Wike of Rivers, myself, Governor of Akwa Ibom, Abia to mention a few were not present at the meeting.

“We are not talking about N1bilion we are talking about $1billion which means N365billion. That means in 365 days from now, they will be spending N1billion per day. That is strange. It is more than strange,” Fayose said.

Speaking further on the program, the governor advised that since President Buhari is going to meet President Trump tomorrow,  they should write a speech for him so that he won't go and say Nigerian youths are lazy again.

As part of the drama that will unfold in the battle for Apc gubernatorial ticket in Ekiti where more than 40 aspirants are contesting.
Hon. Chief Taiwo Olatunbosun write the State commissioner of Police over threat to his life by one of Dr Kayode Fayemi strike man, Mr Rotimi Olanbiwonu aka Mentilo at a public function.

12th April, 2018.
The Commissioner of Police,
Nigeria Police,
Ekiti State Command,
Iyin road,
Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State.
Sir,
THREAT TO LIFE
On the 12TH day of April, 2018, I was attending a party programme at Ode Ekiti in Ayekire Local Government area of Ekiti State on the invitation of Mr. Makinde Araoye being a Publicity Secretary of All Progressive Congress (A.P.C), Ekiti State Chapter.
At about 3:00pm or thereabout Chief Rotimi J. Olanbiwonnu also known as Mentilo, an erstwhile chairman of Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria, Ekiti State chapter was looking at me ferociously while pointing his finger at me provocatively.
In the course of doing so, he uttered the following words which filter into my ears “ma ran awon boys si e, won ma ge ori e danu, won ma pa e”. The word literally means that he will send some boys to behead you, they will kill you.
Consequent upon this I confronted him that what have I done to necessitate my sudden cruel and inglorious death.
He did not in any way deny the words uttered by him, rather he reinstated what he has said before with a rider that “mo ma pa e ni mo so yen, sebi won payan sere ninu oselu ni. Alaimore ni e and that Fayemi put you in this position and empower you. Pe iso kuso ni Jide Awe nso lori radio Adaba. Gbogbo yin ati Kemi ma lo ni, tabi ke fi emi yin di. Eyin alaimore” which words literarily means that I will kill you like others who have been killed in politics for nothing. That you are an ingrate for not following a particular aspirant who allocated the position of Publicity Secretary of the party to you and others. Jide Awe is talking rubbish on Adaba radio. Kemi and all of you will pay the supreme price, if you failed to follow Fayemi.
These provocative words and threats were uttered in the presence of some members of APC Ekiti State Executives such as Mr. Paul Omotoso (Secretary), Mrs. Mary Faje, Mrs. Abiodun and others.
Having regards to the antecedent of chief Rotimi Joseph Olanbiwonnu and his likes in political thuggery and uncivilized conduct, I reasonably believe that he has the will and strength to carry out his devilish threat if not call to order timeously.
In view of the above, I am appealing to you to use your good offices to prevent unnecessary, unreasonable and unjust loss of life, particularly my life.
Thanks for expediting action on my complaint without further delay.
Yours faithfully,
Rt. Hon. Taiwo Franklin Olatunbosun.
(Former Deputy Speaker, Ekiti State)
State Publicity Secretary (APC)

Sunshine Anifowoshe: Another great mobiliser

4th April, 2018
Alonge Olufemi Alonso

Leadership has nothing to do with age, stature or position; but it is all about ability of a man to inspire and lead others successfully.

Since the inception of the expiring tenure of Gov. Peter Ayodele Fayose, I have not for once come out with a piece in my name to applaud  the generosity of  this young man who is arguably one of the best three cabinet members of the governor. My latest experience at the newly commissioned restaurant at Osekita Bus Stop, Iworoko-Ekiti is the reason behind this piece.

On Thursday, 29th March, 2018, I was coming from Ipoti-Ekiti with my personal person cum leader; Ojo Ayegbusi (Ayee) who drove his Toyota Camry. On getting to the bus stop, I saw people hailing one man. As usual, I was inquisitive to know what was going on there from afar and I asked my man whether he knew what was going on there but he replied like a typical Nigerian who will answer question with question.

We moved closer and I told him to park so as to have knowledge of what was happening. He parked and I saw an handsome looking man, Sunday Anifowoshe, the Personal Assistant to Gov. Ayodele Fayose on General Administration and Stomach Infrastructure  in the midst of the people, smiling and exchanging pleasantries with virtually everyone.

Looking up, I saw "African Kitchen" written boldly in front of where we parked our vehicle and I quickly remembered the then African Chicken at Fajuyi Park, Ado-Ekiti. The place we used to eat plenty of food with token amount.

We entered the place, saw people wining and dining. We were offered seat, food and drinks by Sunshine himself. I sat beside him and that gave me the opportunity to let him know that we were already okay right from where we were coming from.

The Disc Jockey (DJ) was busy blasting with latest songs while some guys were displaying their talents. What a beautiful day!

We were there for 1h:36 minutes and I was not only happy but over joyous with the kind of pleasant comments that people were making about the business oriented man who is the owner of the new restaurant.

The man known as Sunshine is also the  owner of one of the most popular breads in Ado-Ekiti. Anybody who passes through Ekiti State University will know how popular Sunshine Bread is.

Before the government, Sunshine was a millionaire and despite his position as a Personal Assistant to the governor, he runs his personal businesses and he is judiciously making use of his office to win more souls for his political party, PDP.

His ability to manage people around him is another sterling quality that makes him to be loved by many people.

His human relations is equal to none, very respectful,  humble and kind. Like my friend, Bola Agboola used to say , Sunshine is the  real 'Atayese' of Osoko Kingdom, may God continue to bless him.

Herdsmen killings in Benue is terrorism, ethnic-cleansing, FG must stop it now - Fayose

Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose has called on the Federal Government to put a permanent stop to the killings in Benue State by herdsmen, saying “what is happening in Benue and other middle-belt States is more than a strive between herdsmen and local farmers, it has gotten to the level of terrorism and ethnic cleansing.

“Just now, we heard the news of the herdsmen attacking the camp of Mobile policemen, Mopol 13 in Benue, killing two officers by slitting their throats. Do you call people who could invade the camp of mobile policemen in a guerilla manner and overpower armed Mopol mere Fulani herdsmen?”

Governor Fayose, who sympathized with the government and people of Benue State for the murder of 59 people last week, said President Muhammadu Buhari must take decisive steps to sop what he described as an attempt to wipe the Agatu and Tiv people of Benue state off the face of the earth.

According to a statement on Tuesday, by his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, Governor Fayose also berated the likes of former President Olusegun Obasanjo for keeping silent on while thousands of Nigerians were being killed by herdsmen.

He said; “Nigerians are gradually beginning to see these killings as a case of hand of Esau, voice of Jacob. It is man inhumanity to man, clear cruelty and unacceptable.”

The governor, who said all men of god conscience in the country should rise in condemnation of the nonchalant attitude of the federal government on the herdsmen criminal activities, added that; “What is happening in Benue and other States in the North-central is an issue that the President Buhari must have to take decisive steps. We never had killings like these under previous administrations. It is one killing too many!”

Governor Fayose said no one can deny the fact that the Fulani herdsmen have become a nightmare to Nigerians.

He said; “On the Global Terrorism Index, Fulani militant group (herdsmen) operating in Nigeria and parts of the Central African Republic is the fourth deadliest known terrorist group.

“A group declared as the fourth deadliest terrorist group in the world as far back as 2015 cannot be handled with levity by the federal government as being done presently and the earlier President Buhari is made to realize that his main duty is protect the lives of all Nigerians, the better.

“Most importantly, the silence of the people does not amount to their inability to defend themselves. And it should be known to the powers that be that everybody in Nigeria has rights to life.

“Taking lives cheaply and brazenly as being done by the herdsmen is the height of evil which no responsible government should allow. The federal government must have to take decisive steps to end this pogrom and stop playing to the gallery.

“As it is, police do not have capacity to handle the situation in Benue and we will not be surprised if the herdsmen begin to move from one state to the other to cause further havoc because they are getting away with murder daily. Therefore, the federal government needs to do more; otherwise, Nigerians will begin to see the herdsmen as the APC hit group.”

Drug charges: Decamp to APC and forget extradition, Oyegun tells Buruji Kashamu

Reprieve may be coming the way of the embattled Senator representing Ogun East, Buruji Kashamu, as the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Odigie Oyegun has vowed to see to it that he (Kashamu) is saved from being extradited to the United States of America (USA) to face trial for his alleged involvement in drug trafficking.
Senator Kashamu was however said to have been told in clear terms that he should formally decamp to the APC and accept Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun as his leader as the only condition for the federal government to intervene in his matter.
The Senator was said to have argued that he should rather be allowed to remain in PDP and continue to work for the APC, but Oyegun objected, arguing that the power brokers in the APC, especially Governor Amosun do not trust him (Kashamu) to that extent, more so that he is also interested in the Ogun State governorship in 2019.
Sources said Senator Kashamu met with Chief Oyegun in Abuja on Monday night and he was assured by the APC national chairman that; “For all that you have done for our party, and most importantly that the new United States President, Donald Trump is not friendly with our government, we will resist any attempt to extradite you.”

Oyegun, who was full of praises for Senator Kashamu for his roles in ensuring victory for the APC in Edo and Ondo States governorship elections, was quoted to have said that the moment Senator Kashamu joins APC, he will ensure that the federal government do everything within its powers to prevent the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Senator from being extradited to United States.
Our source disclosed that to assure Senator Kashamu of his seriousness, Chief Oyegun called the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, who also assured that all necessary legal means will be deployed to frustrate any move by the United States government to extradite the Senator.
“Senator has assisted our party and our government greatly. It is partly to his credit that PDP lost Edo and Ondo States governorship elections and that PDP remained destabilised. This is a payback time and we will stand by him at this trying period so as to give other PDP top-shots willing to join our party the assurance that we will always protect them.
“You can see what we have done for Chief Orji Uzor Kalu, Senator Joshua Dariye, and even the Senate President, Bukola Saraki. Now that Saraki has opted to team up with us and behave well, he now has peace of mind,” the source quoted the Attorney General to have said.
For 18 years, Senator Kashamu has remained in the eyes of the storm, being wanted in the United States for allegedly acting as the kingpin of a drug smuggling and money laundering ring. It was the same operation that landed American author Piper Kerman in jail for a year and inspired her memoir “Orange Is The New Black.”
Kashamu strenuously denies the charges and claims it’s a case of mistaken identity; he says the US really wants his late brother, but he has refused to heed calls that he should visit the United States to clear his name once and for all.
Last week, a United States Appeals Court upheld a ruling against Senator Kashamu.
In an April 2015 filing, Kashamu asked a district court to prevent his “abduction abroad by U.S. authorities.”
The court however dismissed the complaint, and the U.S. Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals upheld the ruling last Monday. It said United States agents’ attempt to arrest Kashamu in coordination with local authorities would not constitute “an attempted abduction
Troubled by this court judgment, the embattled senator warned yesterday, that before anybody could succeed to extradite him to the US to face trial for drug-related offences, “about three, four or five people will die.”
He vowed that any attempt to ‘abduct’ him would be met with violence, saying he planned to engage the services of members of the Oodua Peoples’ Congress for protection.
The senator vowed that any attempt to ‘abduct’ him would be met with violence, and that he planned to engage the services of members of the Oodua Peoples’ Congress (OPC) for protection.
He said, “There is no extradition that can be brought against me again. The only thing they can do is to watch and catch me on the road; take me to the airport or Cotonou or throw me inside a vessel and take me through the Atlantic Ocean. But I am not going to let that happen. I don’t go to the beach, and now, I will go and hire OPC, may be like 40. I will load them (in my vehicle), because the day we meet, one has to kill one. That is for sure! One has to kill one because I am not ready to go anywhere. Before that happens, maybe about three, four or five people will die.”

END OF THE ROAD FOR NOTORIOUS CULTIST KIDNAPPER AND MASS MURDERER- DON WANEY

The authorities of 6 Division Nigerian Army Port Harcourt wish to inform the peace loving people of Omoku in ONELGA in particular, Rivers State and indeed the entire good people of Niger Delta in general that the notorious cult leader, kidnap kingpin and mass murderer Don Waney is dead.

Recall that in the early hours of Monday 20th November 2017, troops of 6 Division Nigerian Army acting on credible information from some patriotic members of the public raided the evil Don Waney enclave in Omoku, ONELGA Rivers State where shocking discoveries of assorted weapons, dynamites, bags of suspected cannabis, full military camouflage uniforms, military boots, military communication radios, 10 human skulls and human bones were discovered. Additionally, in continuation of the operation on Tuesday 21st November 2017, the troops also exhumed decomposing bodies of some of his victims in his shrine in the glaring eyes of the media who were invited to witness first hand.

Perhaps not satisfied with the numerous lives of innocent citizens he took, Don Waney masterminded the despicable New Year day mayhem in Omoku in which he led his notorious gang of criminals to murder 23 peace loving citizens of Omoku when they were returning from Cross Over Service at about 1:30am on Monday 1st January 2018.

Intense surveillance activities on him and his gang by the Department of State Services (DSS) Rivers State Command revealed that after committing these atrocities he relocated to a neighbourhood within Enugu Town  in Enugu State where he rented an apartment and started living among unsuspecting neighbours within the community.

From the relative safety of his newly-rented apartment, Don Waney was already perfecting plans to wrought another mayhem in Omoku in which he was to attack churches, schools, Army and Police locations and the RESIDENCES of the generality of the already traumatized people of Omoku. However, following his successful geo-location to his new Enugu neighbourhood hideout by the DSS Rivers State Command, a combined team of troops of 82 Division Nigerian Army Enugu and personnel of DSS Rivers State Command raided the hideout to arrest him and his other accomplices. Incidentally on sensing that the combine team were closing in on his residence, Don Waney, his Second- in- Command (Ikechukwu Adiele) and another gang member (Lucky Ode) attempted to escape through the back exit of the apartment and were shot down by the eagle eyed troops in the process. One of them died on the spot while the other 2 who sustained gun shot wounds eventually died while being evacuated for medical attention.

The remains of Don Waney and his cohorts were brought back to Port Harcourt Rivers State by the combine team and handed over to the Rivers State Police Command for further action.

To this end, the authorities of 6 Division Nigerian Army Port Harcourt wishes to use this opportunity to extend their condolences to the families of all the victims of the evil Don Waney and his gang. We also wish to solicit your further cooperation in volunteering useful information to track down and arrest the remaining gang members so as to bring them to justice for a peaceful, prosperous and secured Omoku community, ONELGA, Rivers State and the entire Niger Delta region.

You are kindly requested to disseminate this information to the general public. Thank you for your usual cooperation.

National PDP Ex- Councilors Forum chide APC over workers sack in Kogi, Kaduna States

PDP Ex- Councilors chide APC over workers sack in Kogi, Kaduna States

Former Councilors in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), under the platform of National PDP Ex-Councillors Forum have berated the All Progressives Congress (APC) governments, especially in Kogi and Kaduna States for throwing workers out of jobs instead of creating employments as promised by the party.

The PDP Councilors described the sack of 1,774 workers by the Kogi State government and over 22,000 teachers by the Kaduna State government as wicked, calling the APC leaders to prevail on its governors to stop inflicting pains on Nigerians.

In a release issued on Monday, by the National Publicity Secretary of the forum, Hon Sunday Ojosu; the former councilors said  that the APC Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello choose to sack 1,774 and compulsorily retire eight Permanent secretaries, some Directors as a New Year gift to the people of the State.

“It is sad to note that a party that rode to power by running fake electioneering campaign promises to Nigeria citizens including mouthwatering three million jobs per year has now turned its back on its citizens by sacking workers at Will.

“It started last November with the Kaduna state governor sacking over 30,000 workers including Teachers and Local government workers under different pretext.

“Thousands of jobs have been lost by Nigeria citizen in the banking sector by downsizing and sacking of worker and many other jobs loss in the private sector thru company folding up and relocations due to economic recessions and hardship caused by bad government policies.

“Despite loss of jobs by the masses in private and public sectors, we are aware of the secret employments going on in some of national agencies like Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Federal Inland Revenue Services FIRS, Public Complaint Commission (PCC) and others thru a mandate from the presidency to compensate APC politicians and their family.

“We want to say at this point that President Muhammadu Buhari should call his governors and
appointees to order to rescind from their wickedness and stop adding to the suffering of Nigeria masses thru their selfishness and faceless administrative policies to reduce the rate of job loss and impoverishing Nigerians.

“We advise that If Buhari and his party APC cannot keep to their 2015 electioneering campaign promises of 3 million jobs per year which they have already failed with evidence from loss of millions of job within their two years in office, they should at least not destroy the legacies that PDP has laid down during their tenure to put smiles on the Nigerian faces.
